Setup Guide

Getting started with llms.txt for HubSpot

Follow these steps to install the app and get your llms.txt file live. Most portals are up and running in under 5 minutes — no technical setup required.

Before you start

You must be a Super Admin on your HubSpot portal to install this app. The app requires the content scope to read your published pages — this scope is only granted to Super Admins. You also need a HubSpot plan that includes the CMS (Starter or above).

1

Install the app

Click the button below to open the llms.txt install page. Check both confirmation boxes, then click Connect to HubSpot.

You'll be taken to HubSpot's OAuth screen — select your portal from the dropdown and click Connect app to grant the required permissions.

2

Complete checkout

After connecting your portal, you'll be redirected to the checkout page. Choose a monthly or annual plan and complete payment via Stripe.

Once payment is confirmed, your portal is activated and your llms.txt file is live immediately.

3

Verify your llms.txt is live

After installation, a redirect is automatically created on your HubSpot domain. Visit:

https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt

You should see a plain-text file listing your published pages and blog posts. If it's not live within a few minutes, try the Refresh redirect button inside the app.

4

Open the app in HubSpot

In your HubSpot portal, go to Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps and click llms.txt. Or search "llms.txt" in the top navigation search bar.

The app home page shows your domains, request stats, and all customisation options.

5

Customise your llms.txt (optional)

You can customise what appears in your llms.txt file directly from the app home page:

  • Site name — overrides the title at the top of the file
  • Description — a short summary of your site shown below the title
  • Extra links — add links to docs, API references, or other resources
  • Exclude URLs — paste URLs you want left out of the file
  • Content type toggles — choose whether to include pages, landing pages, and blog posts

If you have multiple domains on your portal, each domain has its own settings and can be toggled on or off independently.

6

Your file stays up to date automatically

No further action needed. Every time you publish or update a page in HubSpot, your llms.txt reflects the change automatically — always showing your latest live content.

Request tracking

The app home page shows how many times AI tools have fetched your llms.txt and when the last request was made.
