Setup Guide

Getting started with SEO Audit Pro

Follow these steps to start auditing your HubSpot website. Setup takes around 5 minutes. No Google Cloud project or technical setup is needed.

1

Install the app on HubSpot

Click the button below to open SEO Audit Pro and connect your HubSpot portal. Choose the account you want to audit and approve the permissions.

What it asks for, and why

  • Content and domains (read-only): to list your pages, blog posts and connected domains so nothing is missed.
  • HubDB tables (read-only): to find dynamic pages generated from HubDB rows.
  • The app never edits your pages, settings or content.

2

Open the app and start your free trial

Once installed, open SEO Audit Pro from your HubSpot app home. Until you start a trial the card shows a Trial not started badge and a yellow banner.

  1. Click Start free trial → in the banner
  2. Add a card on the Stripe checkout page. You won't be charged until the 14-day trial ends
  3. Return to HubSpot and refresh. The badge changes to your subscription status

Pricing

$50 per domain per month, or $500 per domain per year. Most HubSpot portals have one domain, so that's usually your total.

3

Choose the domains to audit

Open the Domains tab. Every domain connected to your portal is listed, with your primary domain opening first.

  1. Select a domain's tab
  2. Click Audit this domain. The tag changes to Auditing
  3. Repeat for any other domain you want covered. Each one is billed separately

Missing a domain?

Connect it in HubSpot under Settings → Content → Domains & URLs, then click Refresh domains. Domains you aren't auditing can be hidden from the list in Settings → Domain list. HubSpot's automatic hs-sites domains start hidden.

Landing pages

Landing pages are not included by default, because campaign pages are usually gated or noindexed on purpose. If you use landing pages for organic content, remove the domain and add it again with them included.

4

Run your first audit

A newly added domain has no results yet. Click Run audit now on its tab to start the first crawl instead of waiting for the schedule.

Crawls are deliberately gentle on your site, so larger sites take longer. A site of a few hundred pages usually finishes within an hour. A site of around 2,000 pages can take several hours. You can close HubSpot and come back, because the crawl keeps running and the card updates when it's done.

Seeing partial or no results?

That's normal while the first crawl is still running. Check back later and refresh the page.

5

Connect Google Search Console (optional)

This step is optional but worth doing. With Search Console connected, the audit can find pages that still get impressions and flag broken ones as a higher priority. It can also catch pages Google is still crawling in a stale state. Access is read-only.

  1. Open the Settings tab and find the Search Console section
  2. Click Connect Search Console, then Continue with Google →
  3. Sign in with a Google account that has access to your property and approve read-only access
  4. Back in HubSpot, the section shows Connected and how many properties are available

Then pick the matching Search Console property for each audited domain in its settings row.

6

Set your crawl schedule

In Settings → Crawl schedule, choose how often each audited domain is crawled.

  • Weekly: pick the day of the week
  • Monthly: pick the day of the month

Audits run on that schedule from then on. There's no need to run anything by hand. The card always shows the latest crawl.

7

Read your results

Open a domain's tab to see its health score and the issue tabs, ranked Critical, Warning and Notice. Each issue lists the affected pages with links, so you can fix them straight away.

Start with Critical. Those are the issues most likely to affect how your pages are crawled, indexed and ranked.

Manage billing any time

Use Settings → Manage billing to update your card, switch plans or cancel.
