Can Google index your HubSpot knowledge base?
If you use HubSpot Service Hub, your knowledge base can show up in Google, bringing in people searching for answers before they ever contact support. Here is what makes that happen and what stops it.

The short answer
Yes. A public knowledge base served from a domain connected to your HubSpot account is crawlable like the rest of your site. Google can index its articles when four things are true: the articles are public, nothing tells Google to stay away, Google can find them, and the content is worth indexing.
What can stop articles being indexed
- Restricted access. Articles limited to logged-in contacts or specific audiences cannot be crawled. Googlebot cannot sign in.
- A noindex setting. Check the knowledge base SEO settings and individual article settings for any option that stops search engines indexing the content. Settings and labels vary by plan and release, so look in both places.
- A robots.txt rule. The knowledge base domain has its own robots.txt. See how to edit robots.txt in HubSpot and make sure it is not blocking the article paths.
- No sitemap or links. A new subdomain has no history with Google. If no sitemap is submitted and nothing links to the articles, discovery can take a long time.
- Thin or duplicate articles. Short answers that repeat each other are often crawled and then left out of the index.
How to check what is indexed
- Add the knowledge base domain as its own property in Google Search Console. A subdomain is not covered by a plain URL-prefix property for the main site.
- Use URL Inspection on a handful of articles and read the verdict.
- Open the Pages report and look at the reasons pages are not indexed. The common ones are explained in Search Console indexing statuses explained.
- Search Google for
site:help.yourdomain.comas a rough check.
How to get articles indexed faster
- Submit the knowledge base sitemap in Search Console. See the HubSpot XML sitemap guide.
- Link to key articles from your main site, product pages and blog posts.
- Give each article a clear title, one question answered well, and links to related articles.
- Push new articles to Google as they publish with the Google Indexing tool for HubSpot.
Frequently asked questions
Can HubSpot knowledge base articles be indexed by Google?
Yes. Public knowledge base articles on a connected domain can be crawled and indexed like any other page, provided nothing blocks them with a noindex tag, a robots.txt rule or a login requirement.
Does the knowledge base need its own domain?
It is served from a domain you connect in HubSpot, commonly a subdomain such as help.yourdomain.com. Treat that as a separate site for Search Console, sitemap and robots.txt purposes.
Why are my knowledge base articles not appearing in Google?
The usual causes are a noindex setting, articles restricted to logged-in users, a robots.txt rule on the knowledge base domain, no sitemap submitted for that domain, or Google simply not having crawled the new site yet.
How do I speed up indexing of knowledge base articles?
Verify the knowledge base domain in Search Console, submit its sitemap, link to articles from other crawled pages, and use URL Inspection for key articles. Your plan and settings determine which options are available.
